DENISE DUONG
“Savoring all the moments that we experience is a story, its living life. Taking life and adding some elements of surprise is the perfect potion. Being able to reflect ideas of innocence and tranquility; while nostalgically sentimental references create the spirit. Life is too complicated to paint anger and sorrow, so the paintings prefer to be happy. The ideas are set in a delicate naive manner, which softens the harshness of life. Learning and loving the past, feeling the excitement for tomorrow, but living for today, is comprised in all those layers.”
Denise Duong is a native Oklahoman who has risen to the art scene with her whimsical and lighthearted artworks. She studied sculpture and printmaking at the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago. She currently lives and works in the resident studio she shares with her husband and fellow artist Matt Seikel.
