Don
Lent is the Dana Professor of Art Emeritus at
Bates College. He holds degrees from the Yale
School of Art and Architecture and the University
of California. Don has had a long career of teaching
and exhibiting his art. He has taught at the University
of California at Santa Barbara and Bowdoin College
as well as Bates. His work has been shown at the
Grolier Society and the Barone Gallery in New
York, the Esther Bear Gallery in Santa Barbara,
Harvard University, the Boston Architecture Center
and the Martin Village Gallery in London. Both
Bates College and Bowdoin College have given him
solo exhibitions and published catalogues of his
work. The New York Public Library chose his book
of etchings, The Heat Lighting for its exhibition
“Sixty Books from the Sixties”.
