ERIN MORAN
"All of my work is done by hand building either by pinching a ball of clay into a cup or bowl or pounding out a slab of clay for plates. With this process my finger prints are left on each piece and leave a wonderfully tactile surface. Because of this process no two pieces are ever the same and I love the one-of-a-kind aspect of my work. I have always been intrigued by both surrealism and folk art and feel my work is a blend of the two. One of the best parts of what I do is that it brings a smile to everyone who sees (and feels) it. Enjoy!!!"
Erin Moran is a self-taught potter. Having used her hands in a variety of ways she settle on clay 8 years ago. The past 2 1/2 years she has worked with clay as a full time potter and currently has work in many galleries around the country.
Her work stretches in a lot of directions, from sculptural to functional to wearable. All of her work is hand built. It is inspired by nature while influenced by both modern and folk art. The tactile aspect of her work makes it irresistible.
